In Lent, many Christians commit to fasting or giving up certain types of luxuries as a form of penance. Many Christians also add a Lenten spiritual discipline, such as reading a daily devotional or praying through a Lenten calendar, to draw themselves near to God.
Of course, the primary pillars of Lent are prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. All of these are intended to turn our hearts back to God, to purify us, and prepare us for the celebration of Christ’s resurrection at Easter.

If you spent your childhood in a pair of Converse or even high tops, you are no stranger to the idea that sneakers can be more than just handy — they can make a huge fashion statement. But, mixing the feminine look of a flirty dress with a pair of kicks has been a no-no until now. We bet you never expected that pairing sporty shoes and an LBD was actually cool, but surprise — it is!
Feminine dresses, sexy sheaths, and sporty skirts can all work when paired with just the right footwear. And not only will you earn major style points in my book for thinking outside the box, your feet will be so so happy!
Doing the laundry seems like a simple enough chore, right? We all know the cardinal rules: separate your lights and darks, don’t put your favorite sweater in the dryer, and always check your pockets. It never crossed our minds that we could potentially be doing our laundry the wrong way. That’s right, ladies, after all these years we’ve found ourselves second-guessing the way that we handle our delicates. When it comes to the washing machine, not all clothes were created equal. Delicate bras and undergarments should be washed with care to ensure that they’ll last for months to come. So before you thoughtlessly toss your clothes into the washing machine, scroll down to see how you should be properly pampering your bras… Continue reading “Everything you need to know about washing your Bras!”→
Peasant dresses are always great when looking for comfort without being boring. Let’s just say that you’re not feeling for buttons, zips, and all that other business – why not toss on a simple, bohemian-inspired dress over your head and get on with life? The good news is that peasant dresses can be extremely fashionable, and perfect for our year round tropical weather.
I am loving this white crisp poplin dress in particular – It’s detailed with cutout shoulders and delicate lace trimming. This look is soft, pretty, very feminine – it falls beautifully and wears effortlessly… best of all it’s WHITE – I just love white .. #getthelook #getitatkerry #kerrymwh #poplin #peasant #boho #easybreezy #style
Our Flower Child Kaysian is killing the fashion scene as usual ! I’m absolutely loving her style as it’s all about that boho-chic vibe i love oh sooo much. Boho-chic is a style drawing on various bohemian and hippie influences which is at its height rite now! Flower Child defiantly represents our inner ‘hippie’ and ‘bohemian princess’ styles using tassels and prints. These pieces are fierce, vintage, fun, sophisticated and yet so soft and pretty, all in one. Perfect for summer 17 and any upcoming vacation or staycation! I have said it before and i’ll say it again – I am so proud and impressed of what our Jamaican designers are doing in the fashion industry.#madeinjamaica #supportlocal #wearejamaica
Imagine hundreds of people descending onto a beautiful unknown location at sunset, dressed in a sea of white and transforming an iconic public space into an enchanted soiree of dinner and dancing among friends.. This is the magic of Diner en Blanc.
The chic picnic started in Paris in 1988 by Francois Pasquier, and is now a global event covering five continents. What makes the event so special is each guest is required to bring everything they need for the celebration. From the all white diner plates and champaign flutes, to tablecloths and even the feast, everything is brought with you and taken away when you leave. The location being left a mystery until the very last moment adds to the allure of Diner en Blanc.
Now one of the most talked about events on the calendar; food lovers, fashion darlings, cultural enthusiasts and media will share an evening of elegance together under stars. Kingston Jamaica is set to sparkle as Diner en Blanc takes place on Saturday March 25th 2017.
Now with that said let’s get to the best part – F A S H I O N !!!! My style tends to be a little more on the simple chic side, which is not the case for everyone. I have attended the awesome event two years in a row and whoa fashion and style is out in abundance. People tend to to go all out in the most glamorous threads – and why not ?!? it’s such a fun excuse to play dress up. Like i said i try to keep it simple and chic – mainly because thats how I’m most comfortable. Our first DEB post will give you a couple simple style options … enjoy!
This painting is everything! y’all know I’m a sucker for murals and i ran into this beauty today whiles lunching. The painting is of Painter Frida Kahlo was a Mexican self-portrait artist who was married to Diego Rivera and is still admired as a feminist icon. Artist Frida Kahlo was born on July 6, 1907, in Coyocoán, Mexico City, Mexico. Considered one of Mexico’s greatest artists, Frida Kahlo began painting after she was severely injured in a bus accident. Kahlo later became politically active and married fellow communist artist Diego Rivera in 1929. She exhibited her paintings in Paris and Mexico before her death in 1954.“I never paint dreams or nightmares. I paint my my own reality!
I’m trying out Chilitos which is a family run Mexican restaurant, it’s conveniently located on 88 Hope Road. Chilitos offers a twist to Latin food, using traditional local products in their most popular Mexican dishes, to create what they like to call ‘Jamexican’ meals!
I went with the Chimichangas, Nacho supreme and naturally an ice cold Corona with lime 🙂 My Chimichangas were mini so i mixed the fillings. I tried jerk chicken, carnitas (pork), ackee & plantain and beef. For those who are not sure of what Chimichangas are – WHAT??? OK here goes – It’s a tortilla rolled round with savory fillings as mentioned above and then deep-FRIED – YUM-O!!!!!!
The mound of nachos were topped with refried black beans, 3 cheeses, sour cream, salsa, jalapeños and cartons! My tummy is happy and i finally got a taste of Mexico fused with Yard …

Let me start by saying I LOVE PINEAPPLES !!! – Anything with pineapples.
I don’t know about you, but I’m usually a person who can’t handle different scented candles. I usually stick with very light and pretty smells since they don’t give me a headache as much.
As a child I hated it when my mom wore strong perfumes and I always told her to please not wear one when we’d travel in the car.
The moral of that story is that today’s candles by Thompson Ferrier NYC have the most amazing gentle scents. Not strong and overpowering. Subtle, luxurious and really really good. I really wish I could give you scratch and sniff through the blog. I’m thrilled that it’s not the standard vanilla smell and they don’t make me nauseous or give me a headache.
Their smell is an entire experience. They don’t just smell phenomenal, they also look amazing with a big variety to choose from. And at the end of burning your candle, you are left with a gorgeous container. I even moved my favorite oversized candle sticks to have them centerstage in my living room.
There are different collections like metallics, animal prints, pineapples, elephants, buddhas and more. #getitatkerry #kerrymwh
