Moroccan hammams are part of many Moroccans’ daily life. Similar to a Turkish bath, a public hammam is a steam room where people go to clean themselves. This is usually a weekly ritual and is considered a social activity in villages and towns, with men, women, and children all participating. Baths are separated by gender and many people will spend hours here chatting with friends. While in Islamic culture women are typically covered from head to toe in public, they’re fully naked at hammams. These were the steps to my very first Hammam in morocco: Continue reading “Lets talk Spa – The Hammam kind ..”
If I told you that there was one ingredient that could successfully reduce fine lines and wrinkles, moisturize skin, banish acne, improve skin tone, fade scars, tame hair frizz, heal split ends, strengthen nails, soften cuticles and condition lips, you’d probably be skeptical. Then if I told you that the same ingredient could also be incorporated into makeup, hair and skin products, was completely natural, good for the environment and helped to support fair wages for women, you would stare at me blankly in disbelief, right? Also, you’d probably want to stock up on as much of that magical stuff as possible.
Well, it exists, and it’s called Argan oil. Harvested from the Argan tree (which is indigenous to Morocco, hence the moniker “Moroccan Oil”) Argan oil is truly a miracle beauty ingredient. Because of its high level of essential fatty acids, Vitamin E and antioxidants, Argan oil is known for its incredible healing and moisturizing properties. Even though it’s oil, don’t think you’ll feel like you slathered yourself in salad dressing.
I have always used Moroccan oil in my hair but it pretty much ended there. On my recent trip to Morocco is where i truly learnt of all the benefits of argan oil – i stocked up and have been obsessed ever since. I have been using it on my scalp, in my hair, on my skin and face. It is super lightweight and absorbs quickly.
The people were extremely friendly. The view was, of course, without a doubt, stunning. The food and wine was heavenly and the cathedrals were mesmerizing – so powerful and heart-rendering. The metros were easy to take and ubers were everywhere. Everything was so close together that we actually wanted to walk and enjoy the gorgeous weather and scenery. That being said, apart from crowded attraction venues, I don’t know what there is to hate about Paris.
I hope you throw your head back and quit worrying now. I hope you stick your tongue out and catch raindrops and bits of sunshine on your lips. I hope you stop thinking about what someone might say, or the faces they might make at you, dancing with your head tilted to the sky.
I hope you forget how tired you are, how worn your body feels, how stressed out you feel in this moment, and you let yourself be a little kid again.
I hope you smile. I hope that smile grows. I hope that smile stretches across your face until it pulls the corners of your mouth open. I hope you chuckle. I hope that chuckle becomes a giggle, then a spurt of laughter, then one of those full-on belly heaves where you almost lose your breath.
See, sometimes life sucks. Sometimes we don’t know if we’ll make it through. Sometimes we don’t know where we’re headed or the ‘why’ behind our circumstances. Sometimes our hearts break. Sometimes we lose people we love and our worlds are left in pieces. Sometimes we also save people we love. Sometimes we feel helpless. Sometimes we’re scared. Sometimes we don’t want to open our eyes when we hear that alarm clock beep.
But here’s the thing, today you did.
Not all those who wander are lost. There are some people in this world who simply do not know where they want to go in life nor know where they want to end up. They are wanderers; they have this urge to travel and explore the world. Going from one place to another to see the unknown and discover the world in a number of ways simply intrigues them and starts a fire within them. I consider these people to have a wild heart and a gypsy soul. We have a unique spirt and dance to the beat of our own drums!
1. She’s free-spirited. She likes to do what feels right to her. The rules don’t apply, forget whatever people say or whatever the ‘law’ says, she will always question the rules and she refuses to conform to the arbitrary rules. She follows her intuition and her heart and she won’t be held down by anything or anyone.
2. She will always be drawn to what triggers her emotions. She’s an extremely emotional person and she can only really thrive if she is deeply passionate about something. Otherwise, she will keep wandering and looking for what moves her soul until she finds it.
3. She is fiercely independent. Other people may think she is aloof, but she is not. She just likes to be on her own and she is not the one to cry for weeks over someone or something. She loves her independence and she will never be the one who depends on someone else to make her happy. She wants to find her own happiness.
Brittany Rae – This journey has been a bit challenging for me. Realizing that fear was holding me back from really pushing myself and this project. It was fear that i would be rejected and fear that i would fail! I had to constantly remind myself, that this fear i face is all in my mind. I had to release it in order to really bloom and get here. Whenever you feel fear, please just go against it, fight and you will find yourself always moving, growing and expanding – you feel yourself getting closer and closer to letting go of your ego. The absence of ego is enlightenment, thats where i am now – reaching enlightenment ! #Shopflex #Flexinstyle #Whatstheflex
