I Don’t Believe in NY Resolutions Anymore – Here is Why ..

On December 31st you’ll find many people writing lists and jotting down ideas of whatimg_1045 they want to change about themselves in the upcoming year. Many times this involves thinking about how to be a “better person.”

“I’ll work out more.”

“I’ll start to go to sleep earlier.”

“I’ll start complimenting more people.”

“I’ll get another job.”

“I’ll spend more time with family.”

I used to be one of these people, but over the years I’ve come to a point where I’ve realized I no longer need to make these New Year’s resolutions.

We seem to only give ourselves one chance to change these parts of our lives and that’s on New Years. The crazy thing is that life is full of millions of opportunities. We really IMG_1117.JPGonly get the chance to make these resolutions once a year; yet, every single day we have the opportunity to make these changes. Why wait?

Yes, I am a fan of setting goals for myself so I used to be all about this a few years ago. I was able to point out the things in my life that I hated and things that I wanted to desperately change. Now I try to allow myself to make these changes every day. If I wanted something so badly, why don’t I just aim to change it and work for it at the time? Instead of just having my ambitions set for one time of the year I’ve now learned that I can achieve them at any given day.

This New Year’s I hope that you are able to do the same thing. I hope you are able to realize how many opportunities and chances life has to offer. Every day you wake up you have another 24 hours to make it a great day and improve something about yourself. What are you waiting for?
